How I Met Your Mother will return to CBS on September 23 at 8 p.m.

The list of guest stars that will appear in the ninth and final season of How I Met Your Mother is growing.

The View cohost Sherri Shepherd will play Daphne, a woman who is seated next to Marshall (Jason Segel) on a flight from Minnesota to New York. Shepherd’s character becomes so annoyed with Marshall’s behavior that a confrontation ensues and the two are actually escorted off the plane prior to takeoff.

“We’re all extremely excited to have Sherri Shepherd joining HIMYM for an arc in Season 9,” said Craig Thomas, series co-creator. “She is hilarious and delightful and perfect for this part — we couldn’t be more thrilled!”

According to TV Line, Shepherd will guest in the hour-long premiere, titled “The Locket,” — like the locket Ted (Josh Radnor) is planning to surprise Robin (Cobie Smulders) with — on September 23 and will return later on in the season.

The Hollywood Reporter's 21st Annual Women In Entertainment BreakfastAlso announced to guest star this season is The Office’s Ellie Kemper. Kemper will play Cassie, “one of the most attractive, available, and — as Ted discovers — unfortunate guests at Barney and Robin’s wedding,” according to series co-creators Thomas and Carter Bays.

As of now, Kemper will only appear in one episode.

Other known guest stars are Wayne Brady returning as Barney’s brother and Cristin Milioti as The Mother. Milioti has been named a series regular for the show’s final season, meaning we won’t be denied any time learning about the woman who we’ve anxiously waited to know for eight years.

Anyone you hope to see in HIMYM’s last season? Let me know @buzzlightmeryl
